Sarah and Nick's Berkeley City Club Wedding

We are truly lucky. We’ve been fortunate enough to work with some amazing couples over the years on their journey to become married. Sarah and Nick, a wonderful couple we worked this year, came to us in search of wedding coordination service for their ceremony and reception at the Berkeley City Club, a historic landmark in Berkeley designed by famed architect Julia Morgan. The wedding day was beautiful and went off without a hitch! One of our favorite experiences of any wedding is to feel the emotion of pure love in the air. With Sarah and Nick’s wedding, love was truly present in every moment throughout the day. Such a gracious and kind couple. The vendors were nothing short of amazing. Special shout out to the Berkeley City Club for their amazing staff and superb service. Also a very special shout out to Esmeralda from the Parkway team who went above and beyond the call of duty.  Thank you Sarah and Nick for trusting us with all big and teeny tiny details of your wedding. Wishing you all the very best!

Jessie and Irving's Chic Bay Area Wedding

One of our favorite events we coordinated this year was Jessie and Irving’s beautiful wedding reception at the historic Preservation Park in Oakland, California. Working with the couple's all-star team of vendors, we coordinated the set-up and breakdown of the 200+ guest wedding reception. We were so happy to see the Bride shed tears of joy upon seeing the full set-up of the reception (which was all completed within a two-hour window, whew!). As event coordinators, those moments of joy are what we live for! Big shout out to The Social Stylist for all their hard work the day-of with the decor and set-up.

We loved the touches of décor the couple chose from the custom acrylic welcome signs and table numbers, to the handmade wooden name cards and donut wall (with none other than Krispy Kreme donuts placed on the wall, yum!).

Jessie and Irving are a dynamite couple who are both very humble, professional, and kind. Wishing many blessings to them in their union!

Tacos & Tequila Summer Cocktail Party

One of our favorite events this Summer was a fun taco & tequila themed cocktail party we styled for a client in Rockridge. We added a bit of flair to the backyard party with custom signage, a fun photo wall, colorful paper lanterns, lime floral centerpieces and more all within one week from the original concept of the party theme. This was one memorable and enjoyable event!

Princess Themed Birthday Party Decor DIY: Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Rose

We’re so excited about the release of the Beauty and the Beast movie remake that we decided to DIY a replica of the infamous enchanted rose.  The DIY enchanted rose can be used as a centerpiece for birthday parties, wedding showers, or even as decoration for your home.  It’s relatively inexpensive—$45 total to create ($30 with Michaels 40% coupon!) and took about 45 minutes to complete. We lucked out and found all the materials we needed at Michaels Arts & Crafts.  Check out the full tutorial below.  If there are any questions, feel free to shoot us a note at hello@theparkwayevents.com.

Time: 30-45 minutes

Cost: $45 (could be cheaper with a $40% Michaels Arts & Crafts coupon)

Materials (click on embedded links below to view where to purchase)

  • 2 red silk roses (one to hang in the centerpiece, the other for the loose petals on the bottom)

  • 1 tube of super glue

  • 1 pack of 3mm clear adhesive rhinestones

  • 1 roll of 0.25mm clear monofilament illusion cord

  • 1 clear or white flat two hole button 0.63 inch in size (we already had a button handy, but any of the smaller clear ones from this pack would work too)

  • 1 glass bell dome 11" tall (this is the recommended dome to use since the ball at the top of the dome conceals the adhesive used in the top inside of the dome)

Tools

  • Scissors

  • Latex gloves (to protect your hands from the super glue)

  • 1 sewing needle

Chris and Cassie's Oakland Wedding

Congrats to the beautiful couple, Chris and Cassie, on their beautiful wedding at Preservation Park in Oakland.  They were so kind and easy to work with throughout the process.  Wishing the very best to these two!

Monkeying around at the zoo!

All the party animals were out for this fun zoo themed one year old birthday party at the Oakland Zoo.  Our favorite table decor detail were the animal figurines we spray painted silver. This addition was both easy and budget-friendly.  The party favors included animal crackers for the kids and banana bread for the adults...yum yum.

...We all scream for ice cream!

We planned a sweet ice cream birthday party for a special two year old boy!  The centerpieces were so much fun, inexpensive, and EASY to make.  Definitely one of our favorite parties from the year!
